The intelligent SECS multiplexer...
New software that improves manufacturing performance is being developed at an ever-increasing rate - fault detection, advanced process control, e-diagnostics, and more. These systems vary in functionality, but they usually have one thing in common; they're hungry for equipment data. But most equipment controllers only support one SECS connection, and it's often reserved for the factory host computer.
Plex4SECS® actively manages multiple host computer connections to the equipment while ensuring the factory host can maintain control. Message replies are properly routed to the sender, and messages originating from the equipment (alarms, events, etc.) are sent to all the connected hosts that need them.
For increased reliability, Plex4SECS runs on Windows NT-based operating systems, using an independent computer so multiplexing can be accomplished without altering the factory host software.

... with hardware fail-over protection
An optional failsafe mechanism is available that allows the factory host to continue undisturbed should the software or hardware running Plex4SECS fail for any reason. Hardware fail-over protection for SECS-I hosts is achieved by installing a Blue Heat/PCI PTM board from Connect Tech Inc. Both the board and Plex4SECS are installed on an existing PC with no further hardware required.
